Lincolnshire Individual SCORECAST LEAGUE 2009-2010 season Run in association with Boston’s independent bookmakers Lincs Racing of 6 Artillery Row, Boston and Lincsbet of 36 Market Place, Boston The Lincolnshire Individual Scorecast League is a football predictions competition run for the 2009-2010 season as a fund-raising venture for Boston Cricket Club and Boston Swimming Club. Points in the competition are accumulated on the basis of FIVE for an exactly correct scoreline prediction or THREE if only the correct result (home, away or draw) is indicated. Additional regular bonus points are added during the season. Up-to-date information and standings for the 2009-2010 campaign are featured below. There will be prizes for the top four finishers and a mini-bonus prize for entrant(s) finishing on a consolation points tally of 88.

So now we know… subject to final ratification, that is. The Scorecast League champion for 2009-2010 is Tony Allan, thanks in no small measure to the healthy addition of 67 end-of-season bonus points. Runner-up is Wayne Barnsley with Heather McInnes third and Liam Adams and Scott Davies joint occupiers of fourth spot. The consolation bonus prize for 88 points sees a six-way share of the spoils. Exact prize money and its distribution will be finalised in the coming days with all recipients to be contacted personally. Most embarrassed entrant, of course, is this year’s wooden spoonist. Just when it had seemed he had clambered away from the bottom rung, the disaster of netting a paltry 10 concluding bonus points means that the name of Pete Rose will be suitably ridiculed by all his pals at the Social Pigeon Centre for weeks to come. Giles School PE teacher and Forest fan Sarah Marson can’t shout too much, either, as she finished only two points ahead of the “the greying gnome” in the basement squalor! WORLD CUP SCORECAST LEAGUE Entry forms are now available for a World Cup Scorecast League competition, run along similar lines to the regular Scorecast contest. Sheets can be obtained from Lincs Racing (Artillery Row, Boston) or the Social Pigeon Centre (Rason’s Court) or by sending an email request to the buzzsport@fsmail.net address. All forms will need to be received no later than Thursday June 10.
