Final summary: The 2005-2006 season of Scorecast League
action is now complete. And, subject to final recheck and ratification, top honours
are heading for sports reporter Duncan Browne of the Boston Standard who has
amazed his pals and associates alike by somehow scrambling back to the top of
the pile, largely on the strength of bagging 40 bonus points from his
end-of-season predictions. John Morris and Linda Page will share the second
placed spoils while John Shelson has secured fourth place. Six contestants
share the bonus prize for finishing on 85 points (see pink section in table
below). Leigh Starbuck was the only competitor to list the word “none”
against the sub-section for the first team to have one player scoring four
goals in a match and thus stood alone as a five-point recipient here. The
only person not to collect any points from the multitude of divisional final
placings was Jean Rose of Boston who, judging by her choices, must have
mis-read the category as “list the bottom three teams!” But, it’s all part of
the fun of Scorecasting. Watch out for next season’s competition. And in the
meantime, don’t forget the deadline for World Cup Scorecast entries is fast
approaching — it’s June 8. Sheets are now
available and are being distributed. Anyone wanting entry forms posting can
email their full postal details to the bostoncricketclub@fsmail.net
address. |
