by George Wheatman

Pigeon fanciers Ray and Isobel Johnson, of Louth, will take more than just an armful of trophies home with them when they attend the North Road Championship Club’s annual presentation evening at the Great Northern Hotel, Peterborough, on November 24.

They are due to receive eight trophies, plus other prizes. The major ones, of course, come as a result of winning the club’s Blue Riband race from Lerwick, but giving them almost as much pleasure will be the receipt of the old bird average trophy because this illustrates just what a fine racing season they had in 2007.
