Correction to last week’s (17/09/09) match details for BHS U17s 19, Boston Ladies B 19. The U17s’ player's player was, in fact, Ashleigh Frankish.

BHS U17s 45, D Birds Black 9: It was a tough match this week for the newly formed D Birds Black up against BHS U17s but they battled with great effort and determination marking the opposition as best they could. But as the final score reflects, BHS used their speed and skill and organised movement on court to outshine D Birds, winning by a massive 45-9 scoreline

BHS U18s 19, Boston Ladies B 19: BHS U18s clearly dominated the first half of the game, leading at that stage by a margin of 10-6. The Boston Ladies’ defensive team offered a tough challenge. In the second half, Boston Ladies upped their game and brought with them energy and determination to fight harder for the second half against a very skilled, fit opposition. It was a close and exciting game to watch and the chance for victory now seemed to be up for grabs for either team. The result was a well-fought draw for both teams that led to smiles and satisfaction at the final whistle.

Boston Ladies B 19, BHS U17s 19: BHS gave Boston Ladies a tough match scoring well in the first half winning by 8 goals to 3. But by the second half Boston Ladies ahd risen to the challenge, giving BHS some strong competition. It was a close match and a fight to the final whistle with a well earned draw for both teams. Danni Frankish fought extremely hard, defending with excellent speed and skill against a strong shooting team, Hayley Pycock and Rachael Bodley. While newly appointed Holly Evans as GK and Amy as GD defended for their team with great effort.

Bridge View Flyers A 11, Bullettes 37: The Flyers started well with the first goal on Bullettes centre. A good start. Bullettes however soon got into stride and pulled away. Flyers never giving up. The agile Laura kitchen and Bechy Shinn running rings round Debbie Winrow in defence. Flyers changed defence to Jenny Briely who did a good job but the skill and fluency of the two shooters gained over years of playing togather is just so hard to break. Bullettes defence also making a good job on Flyers new shooters Sarah Mayes and Bev Emanuelle. The final score however showed how hard Flyers worked to gain the few goals they got. An excellent well humoured game between two long standing league teams.

D.Birds Black 3, BridgeView Flyers B 28: D Birds started with good playing although Flyers soon showed their experience to pick up the pace so D Birds made mistakes.  The first half say Flyers take the lead by 9 goals although D Birds were playing well. Half-time score: D Birds 3, Flyers B 12. The second half say Flyers shooting on target and D Birds attack tried hard by Flyers Goal Keeper was on form. The final quarter saw some good play by D Birds slowing the game down to keep possession. Final score: D Birds 3, Flyers B 28.
