already decided apart from the top four. Tony Hillyard took on Martyn Palmer.
The latter needed four points to overtake Jamie Robson by one point and Tony
needed three points to finish third. This game went all the way to the

straight back up to the oche and with the first arrow hit the double six to
win 4-3 and to win the league with Jamie winning second place. Tony Hillyard duly

Round up for week ending Friday April 10 BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION The first game was between Martyn Palmer and Rob Cade.
Rob only had a chance in the last leg to finish as it was a 40-dart leg. But
Martyn managed to finish it off to win 4-0 with a 128 checkout in one of the
legs. Harry Lee and Derek Johnson were next. Harry went three legs up. Derek
then checked out on a ton to grab a consolation point as Harry came back to
win 4-1. A seven-leg game was next between Dave Hasnip and Kev Lenton. This
game went backwards and forwards to be level on 3-3. The last leg saw Dave
miss tops and hit a 5 for Kev to finish on 67 in two darts to win 4-3. Graham
Sharp had his first game of the night when facing second placed Jamie Robson.

back. But Graham hit a 116 checkout in the last leg to win 4-2. In Graham’s

Round up for week ending Friday March 20 BOSTON
STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION There
were quite a few call-offs on the night with only six games to report on. The
first game was between Elaine Corke and Ady Parker. It was all neck-and-neck
after four legs, then Ady got a spurt on and won the next two legs to win
4-2. Darren Butler took on Bob Mountain next. Again in this game after four
legs, it was all level then Darren missed some shots at double to let Bob in
to win 4-2. Ady Parker was back to the oche to take on Jamie Robson. In the
first leg Ady could have gone ahead but couldn’t hit the double bed as Jamie
went on to win 4-0, scoring a maximum in the game. Dave Hasnip and Harry Lee
were next. Dave played well in this game as most of the time he left Harry
straggling behind. Harry managed to score a maximum but still lost the leg to
Dave. In the last leg Harry couldn’t finish on 46 and left himself 10 when
Dave came up and finished on 60 in two darts to win 4-0, also having the
highest checkout of the night of 97. Mark Simpson had his hands full with
Redvers Dickinson as Mark couldn’t finish. He only managed a consolation
point as his darts wouldn’t go in the doubles and Redvers’s also scored a
maximum to win the match 4-1. Jamie was back to the oche, this time against
Elaine Corke. Elaine had some chances to take “the Robster” down but it
wasn’t to be as Jamie won 4-0 with the highest average of 26.72. This also put
him top of the league by one point with second place Tony Holland a game in
hand. So it is now all hotting up quite nicely. LINCS
RACING CHAMPIONSHIP The
first game of the night was between James Beeson and Daniel Flynn. Having a
break for Daniel seemed to have worked because he came back with a vengeance
to beat James Beeson 3-0 with the highest average of the night of 21.16.

his chances of finishing off the legs but Pete did the checking out on 86 in
the first to really lead the way and win 3-0. A five-leg game was next
between Pedro Silva and Dennis Turner. Dennis went ahead by two legs for
Pedro to come back and level. In the last leg Pedro led the way and finished
off the game to win 3-2. Pedro stayed on the board for a re-arranged game
against Nathan Richardson. Pedro only managed a consolation point in this
game as Nathan won 3-1. Daniel Flynn was back to the oche against Doug
Lillington. This was a five-leg game. After it was all square, Doug scored
the better and hit a 97 to leave 32 which he took out in three darts to win
3-2, also claiming the highest finish of 95. The last game saw a father and
son fight it out at the oche. Kev Dickinson took on Lee. Both were nervous in
the first leg as they struggled to finish. But Lee held on. Then dad Kev
managed to pull back but Lee went on to finish off the game, winning 3-1. JOHN
SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE To
start proceedings off were Dale Broughton and Pete Johnson. Both players got
down to the doubles but Pete only managed a consolation point as Dale won 2-1
with the highest average 13.05. Next to the oche were Dianne Jenkins and Adam
Kemp, this was a messy game as neither got into hot form on there doubles and
only Di managed a consolation point as Adam won 2-1. Phil Hunt then took on
Darren Bierley next. The first two legs saw both players both down to doubles
as Phil won each time. Darren then scored well in the last leg to pick up a
consolation point, Phil winning 2-1. Pete Johnson was back to the oche this
time taking on Louise Charalambou. Louise could have this match 2-1,but in
the first leg she struggled on doubles to only pick up a consolation point as
Pete won 2-1. An all-women encounter was next between Tina Willicombe and
Suzie Watson and again Tina had her chances but couldn’t find the red bit as
Suzie won 3-0. Tina stayed on the oche when taking on top of the league
Sharon Butler, Tina got down to a double in two legs but again couldn’t find
the red bit as Sharon won 3-0. The last game of the night was between Dianne

Round up for week ending Friday March 13 BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION Tony Holland nearly had his first loss of the season as

have set in as Tony then won the next four legs to win the match 4-3 and also

take on Harry Lee. Three maximums were scored in this game with Harry
managing two and also only managing two consolation points as Deb won 4-2.
Kev Lenton and Elaine Corke fought it out next. This game went backwards and
forwards as, after four legs it was all level. Then Kev upped a notch and
managed to finish off the next two legs to win 4-2. Rob Cade was looking for
his first win and against Tony Buckle it went to the wire in all seven legs
with Rob finding his first win via a 4-3 scoreline. Next up were Ady Parker
and Redvers Dickinson, Redvers only had a chance in the fourth leg but missed
his double as Ady went on to win 4-0. A seven-leg game was next between Bob
Mountain and Dave Hasnip. Everything hinged on the final leg and both upped

leg to start proceedings and just carried on from there to win 4-0. The last
game saw Rob Cade and Redvers Dickinson finish off the night. After four
legs, it was all level but then Redvers held his nerve to win 4-2. LINCS RACING CHAMPIONSHIP The first game of the night was a five-legger between
Pete Grooby and Nathan Richardson, after it was neck-and-neck after four
legs. In the last leg Pete hit a couple of 140s to be well into the lead, but
it took 10 darts to finish off the game, Pete winning 3-2. The next game was another five-legger between Pedro
Silva and Bob Birtwhistle. In the last leg Pedro just nipped into the lead to
the finish to take out double 2 in one dart to win 3-2. In another

back but then Rick got a spurt on to take the next two legs and to also check
out on 114 in three darts to seal the win 3-1. Lee Dickinson took on James
Beeson next, Lee had some costly misses at doubles to let James beat him 3-0.
Dick Taylor had a good game next against Rob Scrupps. It took a total of 62
darts for Dick to defeat Rob, leaving him on treble figures in all the three
legs and also getting the highest average of the night with 24.24. The last
game saw Rob Scrupps back to the oche, this time against Kev Dickinson. Rob
had more of a chance in this game getting down to the doubles but couldn’t
finish as Kev could to win 3-0. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE There were only two games in this section. Pete Johnson took
on Tina Willicombe. Both were slowly into their stride and struggled on
doubles in the first leg, which Pete eventually got. And then he didn’t
hesitate in leg two, reeling off a decisive win. In leg three Tina had a
chance a consolation point but couldn’t finish and Pete won 3-0. Suzy Watson
then took on Adam Kemp. After two legs it was neck and neck. In the last leg
Suzy was down to the finishing first after hitting a 140 but she couldn’t

Round up for week ending Friday March 6 BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION Debra Royal started the first of her two games against
bob Mountain. Deb won the first leg but then struggled on doubles as Bob went
on to win 4-1, checking out on a bull in the last leg. In Deb’s second game
she fared a lot better, hitting a maximum in the first leg. Tony had the
chance to take the first leg but couldn’t finish as well as Deb did. And then
in the next three legs, she left Tony standing behind on treble figures when
she checked out to win 4-0. Tony Buckle also had another game against Ady
Parker. Ady was much more of a match for Tony as Tony had his chances in
three legs to finish but couldn't hit the doubles as Ady won 4-0. Mark Simpson had a corker of a game against Elaine
Corke, Mark could do no wrong as he scored well and checked out straight away
checking out on a 106 and a 122 to win 4-0. Tony Hillyard started his first
game tonight against Jamie Robson, after four legs it was all level then Jamie had a 15-dart leg to lead and
checked out on 76 in three darts before Tony had the shot at double 9 to win
4-2, Tony did manage to hit an 180. In Tony’s second game he played Dave

Round-up for week ending December 19 BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION It was a good night for the Premier section — not so
much in the other divisions with several postponements. To start things off in the top section
were Elaine Corke and Redvers Dickinson. After being all square on two legs
it was Elaine who went further even though Redvers scored a maximum Elaine
won the game 4-2. Redvers was on the oche again this time against Jamie

Parker took on Harry Lee next and again after going one apiece Ady went on to

next between Graham Sharp and Tony Buckle, so after being all square on 3-3
Tony hit an 84 to leave 16, which he took out in three darts to win 4-3. The
next game was a cracker as Jamie Robson took on Dave Hasnip and as they are
fighting out second place it was going to be a good game and it was as Jamie
stormed ahead in the first leg leaving Dave back on treble figures when he
finished on the doubles and this happened for three of the legs as Jamie won
4-1 with the highest average of the night 27.54. Mark Simpson started his
first game of tonight against Harry Lee. Harry only had chance in one of the
legs to finish and he couldn’t as Mark won 4-0 even with Harry hitting two
180s. The next seven-leg game was between Tony Hillyard and Debra Royal.
After being all-square both scored well in the last leg and Deb hit a 140 and
finished on 36 in three darts the next time round to win 4-3. The last game

only took Nathan three straight legs to win with the highest average of the
night 20.04. The last game saw Daniel Flynn take on Pedro Silva. Daniel
dominated the first leg going into the lead but this spurred Pedro on to take
the next three legs to win 3-1. Could players please note that number 13, George
Harness, has had to drop out of the league due to medical reasons. So his
fixtures will turn into a bye while everyone wishes George all the best. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE There were only three games this week. First up to the
oche were Darren Bierley and Phil Hunt. For some reason only two legs were
played in this game and Phil hunt walked off the winner, claiming three
points. The second game was between Pete Johnson and Louise Charalambou.
Louise had her chances to finish but struggled as Pete walked off a 3-0
winner. The last game saw an all women encounter take place

struggled to finish of the third as Adam nipped in to grab a consolation
point. In Petes second game he took on Darren Bierley. Pete took the first
two legs leaving Darren trailing behind and in the last leg Darren had the
chance to pick up a consolation point but couldn’t find the red bit and Pete
took the leg to win three points and to move up to joint second in the table.
The last game saw Diane Jenkins take on her better half Phil Hunt. Again in
this game Diane went ahead by two legs and struggled in the last leg to hit
the red bit as Phil did and took a consolation point. |

in the first and last leg to take the double but Tony just the stronger took
the win 4-0. Martyn Palmer took on Bob Mountain in the next game and Martyn
had some super darts as he polished of a 15, 14 18,16 dart legs, but Bob did
get a consolation point. With that 4-1 win Martyn got the highest average of
the night 29.63 and a maximum was scored too. The next game on was between
Kev Lenton and Tony Buckle. After 4 legs even with Tony hitting an maximum
they were neck and neck. The 5th leg
Kev ran away alittle and finished on 55 in two while Tony was back on 169.
Tony had the chance to level again but couldn’t finish of tops or 20 so Kev
finished on tops in 1 to win the game 4-2. Dave Hasnip took on Deb Royal
next, again this game after 4 legs went neck and neck and Deb hitting a
180 in leg 3. Both scoring well in
the next leg Dave just edging in front and got to the finish first to lead
the game 3-1. Dave started well in leg 6 hitting a maximum then a ton back to
back but he then hit a 28 to let Deb catch up. Deb left herself tops but Dave
checked out on 25 to take the win 4-2. Rob Cade returned to the oche for his
game against Tony Hillyard. Rob had one chance at taking a leg but just
couldn’t finish as Tony took the win 4-0. Both Martyn Palmer and Deb Royal
were up to the oche next in an re-arranged game. Deb had chances to finish
off a couple of legs but struggled on doubles and Martyn just that bit
stronger took the win 4-0. A player who seems to be finding his form again is
Derek Johnson as he managed to make it three weeks in a row for a win as he
beat Elaine Corke 4-2. Tony Holland was back to the oche this time against
Ady Parker. Tony ran away with the first two legs leaving Ady behind in
treble figures. The third leg Ady had a chance of finishing on 14 but
couldn’t hit the double and Tony took out 24 in two darts to go 3-0 up. Ady
then had a cracking leg checking out on 32 in one dart while Tony was back on
181. Ady then carried this momentum on and took the next leg, but the sixth
leg saw Tony polish of a 15 dart leg finishing on 78 in three to take the win
4-2. A good eight points for Tony. LINCS RACING CHAMPIONSHIP First up to the oche were Rick Woods and Pedro Silva.
Double trouble was in both players tonight and it was Pedro who took the
three points but Rick did walk of with a consolation point. Daniel Flynn took
on Jimmy Birtwhistle next and Daniel getting to the finish first and checking
out straight away to win 3-0. Dick Taylor managed to level up this match
after two legs but just struggled to keep with James as the latter took the
next two legs to win 3-1. A cracking game was on the oche next between Doug
Lillington and Dennis Turner. Doug ran away with the first leg as he checked
out on 36 in 1 while Dennis sat back on 230. Dennis tried to come back in the
second leg as he hit two tons and had the chance to check out on 65 but
scored 27 to leave 38 but Doug finished on 56 in two darts to go 2-0 up. The
third leg Doug again ran away with the leg as he hit a 121 a ton forty and a
ton back to back and checked out on 12 in one dart to win the game 3-0, and
also got the highest average of 21.47 of the night. Dick Taylor was back to
the oche for his second game this time against Pete Grooby. After everything
was all square after four legs the deciding leg Pete hit two tons and checked
out on 66 in 3 darts to take the win 3-2. Nathan Richardson struggled to
finish i his game against Kev Dickinson. Nathan did mange one point but Kev
walked of the victor as he claimed 3 points and the highest checkout of 115.
James Beeson was back to the oche this time against Bob Birtwhistle. The
first two legs went either way but Bob then struggled as James took the next
two legs to win 3-1. The last game of the night was between George Harness
and Rob Scrupps. George must be the most unlucky player at the moment as he
has just not been able to secure the last leg to win and as so with this
week’s game as Rob walked off with the win 3-2. Unlucky George. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE The challenge league started with Emma Grant struggling
to finish against Pete Johnson and Pete got 3 points to move up the table.
Dale Broughton was up to the oche to play Adam Kemp next. Dale who is
unbeaten remained unbeaten but Adam did manage a consolation point. Dale had
the highest average of the night with a 16.61. The surprise of the night was
between Louise Charalambou and Darren Bierley. This game was all about who
got the finish first as both had good scores and both had rubbish scores. the
last two legs came down to the mad house which must have seemed to take ages,
but it was Louise who came out the with three points. Angie Upsall took on
Phil Hunt in the next game and double trouble seemed to be everybody’s
problems as Angie only managed to get one consolation point as Phil won 2-1.
The last game of the night was an all-women encounter between Diane Jenkins
and Tina Willicombe. Tina fought hard and has chances to finish two legs but
struggled and Diane came through to win all three points. NOTE: Just to remind players that
there are no darts this week (October 17) to avoid a clash with the Old Leake
finals night. If anyone wants to postpone games in Divisions One and Two,
after October 24, they should contact Graham Sharp at BSC on (01205) 369018. |

The first game of the night was a cracking game and
produced the best average since 2005. The player that got the average of

4-0 win. Next to the oche was Ady Parker and Tony Hillyard. Ady was scoring
better and finished well in the first and second leg. Tony came back to level

Martyn Palmer. Martyn hit a 140 and a maximum in the first leg to ease him to
take the double. Dave came back to level. Martyn then started leg three with
another maximum and followed up with two tons and checked out on tops in two
while Dave was back on 112. Martyn again started with a ton and another
maximum in the fourth to go 3-0 up. Dave had the chance to go to two legs but
he couldn’t finish and Martyn finished on tops in one dart to take the win
4-1. Deb Royal faced Darren Butler in the next match. Darren managed to keep
with Deb but Deb just the better on the doubles came of the 4-0 winner. Last
week’s birthday boy Harry Lee took on Elaine Corke. Harry started his leg off
with a 180 then hit an 11, which, luckily for Harry, Elaine wasn’t up to her
form and managed to finish the first leg to lead. Harry then started to
struggle on his doubles but managed to come of the oche a 4-1 winner. Kev
Lenton returned to the oche to face Tony Holland. This game went one way then
other for the first four legs to be all level, then the fourth leg was the
best both scoring well and Tony finishing the leg on 15 darts to lead. The
last leg Tony set of well and got to the finish first, Kev put in some good
scores but Tony finished on 18 in one dart to keep his unbeaten run. Mark
Simpson took on Tony Buckle. Tony struggled to keep with Mark and Mark ran
out a 4-0 winner also getting the highest checkout of the night with a 103.
The dreaded seven-legger always looms each week and here it was again with
Derek Johnson and Redvers Dickinson the culprits. When it was all square at 3
all the last leg could have been anyone’s but Derek finished on tops in three
darts to add another win to the table. LINCS RACING CHAMPIONSHIP A re-arranged game started the night’s action with Rick
Woods playing Doug Lillington. It was the first five-legger of the night. The
last leg Rick struggled to finish on tops and left 14 but he didn’t have a go
at taking it out as Doug took out 36 in two darts. Well done Doug as he also
got the top checkout of 86 and the highest average of the night 19.37. The
next game saw a big welcome for Dick Taylor who wasn’t able to start the
season due to illness welcome back Dick. Dick faced Pedro Silva. Dick started
well as he took the first two legs.
Pedro then came back in the next two legs to level. Pedro hit a ton forty at
the end of leg 5 and left himself 67 while Dick was back on 163. Pedro came
of the winner as he took out 67 in 3 darts. Pete Grooby took on Kev Dickinson
next. Kev really struggled on his doubles in the first and second leg giving
Pete the lead. the third leg Pete hit some good scores and finished the leg
on 48 in two darts to win 3-0. Doug Lillington returned to the oche this time
playing Bob Birtwhistle. Doug started of well hitting a ton and a 125 to go
well in the lead and take the first leg. Bob missed his chance to level as he
missed double 8 and Doug took out another leg. The third leg Doug scored the
better and after having 11 darts at the double he walked away with 3 points.
Another five legger came next between Dennis Turner and George Harness.
Dennis took the first and second leg for George to come back to level. George
had the chance to check out on 80 but couldn’t hit tops and Dennis hit 44 in
two darts to win 3-2. George was back to the oche after a break for the last
game of the night against Bob Birtwhistle. Another 5 leg game. The last leg
was the best as both hit good scores and again George had the chance to check
out on tops but split it and Bob checked out on 59 in three darts to take the
win 3-2. Will players please note number 15 is not a bye the
place has been taken by James Beeson. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE The challenge league started with Dale Broughton and Darren Bierley. Darren had his chances of winning this game as he got down to the doubles but cold only walk away with 1 point as Dale won 2-1. An all women encounter took place at the oche next between Suzy Watson and Tina Willicombe. This game was all about who could get the double first and after two legs it was all-square. The last leg saw Suzy just pull ahead and finished to win 2-1. Another all-female encounter was next this time Diane Jenkins and Angie Upsall. The first leg both had numerous chances to finish but Angie held on to lead. The second leg Di came back with some good scoring and checking out on 32 in 2 while Angie was back on 249. The deciding leg Angie had some good scores and after leaving 22 missed her first three arrows at the double but came back with the next 2 to take it out and win 2-1. Phil Hunt and Adam Kemp fought it out next and Adam stormed ahead in the first and second leg to win 2-1. An uprising woman and another year older as she hits the big 40 Sharon Butler played Pete Johnson in her first game. Sharon really dominated this match and Pete only had a chance at the double in the first leg but Sharon came away with winning all 3 legs and the highest average of the night 18.32. Sharon’s second game she played Darren Bierley. Darren had his chances at the doubles but the pressure got to him as Sharon came away with all 3 legs again to make it a good night for the birthday girl walking away with 6 points in total which shot her to joint first in the league. Happy birthday, Sharon! The surprise of the night came from Louise Charalambou as she took on Emma Grant. This was abit of a scrappy game both having chances at the doubles but as Emma proved drinking and darting do not mix as Louise had a much deserved win of 2-1. The last game of the night was between Angie Upsall and Suzy Watson. Both throwing some good scores in and both down to doubles, but Suzy held to finish of winning 2-1. |

Round-up
for week ending September 26
BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION A full night of fixtures for the Premier league a total
of eleven games, starting with co-inhabitants Debra Royal and Graham Sharp
who met on the oche for the only seven-legger of the night there always has
to be one! Graham took the first two legs, Deb pulled the third one back
finishing on 36 in two darts, but Deb struggled to finish as she had 9 darts
at double four and Graham came in to steal to go 3-1 up. This seemed to spur
Deb on as she then took the next three legs to win 4-3. Tony Hillyard then
faced Mark Simpson. Mark steamed ahead and took the first two legs. Tony came
back to level the match. Leg five Mark hit 4 tons but struggled to finish of
the leg as Tony hit the double bed first to go into the lead again. The last
leg Tony just had the better scoring and finished on 58 in two darts to win
the match 4-2 while Mark was back on 214. The player to be watching this year
is Jamie Robson as he had two good cracking games tonight his first opponent
was Ady Parker. Jamie hit an maximum in the first leg and finished of the leg
on 32. The second leg Ady had the chance to level but couldn’t finish and
Jamie took out 71 in three darts to go 2 up. The next two legs Ady just
couldn’t keep up with Jamie as he was scoring well and finished well to win
4-0 with an average of 27.83. Jamie’s second game against Rob Cade was even
better than his first as he checked out on a massive 160 to take the first
leg. Jamie really dominated this match as he took the next three legs not
giving Rob a chance to get close to the double, this match was that good that
Jamie managed to beat his earlier average of 27.83 with an 27.88 which is
joint highest with Tony Holland. Well done Jamie. Harry Lee celebrated
turning 79 by hitting two maximums in his game against Tony Buckle. Tony took
the first leg but Harry showed his years of experience by pulling of a 4-2.
Tony Hillyard was back to the oche this time facing Kev Lenton. Tony took the
first leg hitting 20 in one while Kev sat back on 130. The start of the
second leg and Tony hit a 180 but towards the end of the leg struggled to
finish but held of as Kev got down to the double. Tony hit two tons and a 133
to finish on 46 in two to go 3 up. The fourth leg Kev struggled to get going
hitting two 26’s back to back. Tony just missed out on a 80 finish but when
he came back he took out 5 in two darts to win 4-0. One player that seems to
struggle is Derek Johnson but as he took on Tony Buckle he seemed to find his
form to pick of his first win of the season gaining four points and Tony
claiming 2 consolation points, well done Derek. The birthday boy Harry Lee was back in action this time
against promoted player Redvers Dickinson. Redvers really had a good game at
scoring but when it came down to the doubles he could only find two of them.
Harry winning 4-2, a good night for points for Harry Lee. Elaine Corke took
on Bob Mountain at the oche next and Bob outscoring Elaine most of the time
struggled on doubles. Elaine managed to get two points out of this match as
Bob won 4-2. Rob Cade returned to the oche this time meeting Darren Butler.
Darren had his chances in the first leg but couldn’t finish as Rob went 1 up.
Darren managed to check out on 74 in three to level up. Darren then just
outscored Rob in the next leg and checked out straight away on 30 in one to
lead. Rob came back in in leg four as Darren had six darts at tops and failed
to hit the red bit. The fifth leg could have been anyones but it was Darren
who finished on 32 in 2 to go back into the lead. The sixth leg Darren upped
his pace abit as he hit a ton forty and a ton to win the leg and the match
4-2. The last game of a long and tiring night was Graham Sharp and Bob
Mountain. Graham won the first leg and seemed to back out of the next two as
Bob went into the lead. Graham then hit a 21, 14,and a 15 dart leg to take
the win 4-2 LINCS RACING CHAMPIONSHIP A better night’s fixtures this week compared to last
week. First to the oche was Pete Grooby and Doug Lillington and the game was
marked by the good looking one Woody. Doug ran away with the first two legs
leaving Pete behind, then Pete seemed to find his form to level the match.
The last leg Pete struggled to make a difference to his finishing and Doug
checked of 36 in three darts to take the win 3-1. Lee Dickinson the player to
watch was up next against Rob Scrupps. Scruppy took the first leg and Lee
took the next hitting a ton to leave 60 and taking 60 out in three darts to
level the match. This seemed to spur Lee on as he then went on to win 3-1.
Next to the oche was James Beeson and Pete Grooby. James took the first leg
while leaving Pete back on 158. The second leg James just outscoring Pete and
checking out on 32 in two darts. The third leg Pete had three darts at tops
but just couldn’t get the double and James finished on 89 in 2 darts to take
the win 3-0. James had the highest checkout of 89 of the night. Doug
Lillington was then back to face another opponent this time Nathan Richardson.
Nathan stormed ahead in the first leg checking out on 50 in three darts while
Doug laid back on 219. The second leg
Doug managed to level and then go on to lead the match 2-1 when Nathan was
left back on 213. Nathan then had some good darts and checked out on 60 while
Doug was back on 184. The fifth and final leg could have gone either way both
struggled on the finish but Nathan came through and took the win 3-1. The
next game saw Kev Dickinson come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 as Pedro struggled
to finish. Daniel Flynn and Dennis Turner struggled on in there game as both
struggled when it came down to the doubles but Daniel took the win 3-1. The
last game of the night saw both Nathan Ricahrdson and Daniel Flynn return to
the oche for a re-arranged game. Nathan stormed into the lead by 2 legs when
Daniel got a consolation point. Nathan then went on to take the next leg to
win 3-1 with the highest average of 20.04 a good night for Nathan. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE The challenge league started with Adam Kemp taking on Diane Jenkins, a pretty evenly matched game both scoring both struggling on finishing but Di came of the oche a 2-1 winner. Dale Broughton seems to be the player to stop this season and Emma Grant tried her darts at having a go but Emma had chances at doubles but only managed to take a consolation point as Dale won 2-1. Pete Johnson then took on Louise Charalambou. Pete walked away with the first two legs leaving Louise behind on 152, and 180 when he finished, the third leg Louise had a go at the double but just couldn’t hit the red bit and Pete finished of on 20 in 2 darts to take the win 3-0 with the top checkout 72 and highest average of 18.78 of the night. Phil Hunt then had a go at trying to stop Dale Broughton, but Dale just the stronger came of the oche winning 3-0 a good night for Dale. Back to the oche was Adam Kemp and Emma Grant. Both had loose darts and both had good scores but Adam only walking of with a consolation point as Emma won 2-1. The last game of the night saw Tina Willicombe play Sharon Butler. Tina had her chances in all three legs to finish but Sharon did finish all three legs to win 3-0. A big thank you goes to Daniel Flynn for sponsoring the ladies division. |

Round-up for week ending September 19 BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION
Starting this week’s fixtures were Ady Parker and Rob
Cade. Ady started the stronger of the two in the first two legs. Rob had the chance
to finish of leg three but double trouble and Ady nipped in to go 3-0 up. The
last leg Ady dominated and didn’t give Rob a chance to get down to the
double, so a good 4-0 win for Ady. The next game was between Redvers
Dickinson and Bob Mountain. Bob started well in leg one as he hit two tons,
Redvers did have a chance to finish but nerves must of set in as Bob finished
on 18 in one to lead. The second leg saw Bob take of another two tons and
finished on 8 in two while Redvers was still on 166. The same again in leg
three. Bob just got to the double first finishing on 32 in two darts. In leg
four Redvers seemed to come back hitting two tons and a 123 but just could
not finish. Unlucky Redvers well done Bob for the win 4-0. Martyn Palmer took
on Darren Butler in the next match. Darren started the better hitting 3 tons
and a ton forty to be down to a double after 15 darts but struggled to finish
and Martyn sneaked in to lead. Darren again started the better hitting 3 tons
and also checking out on 20 in two to level. Martyn got his form back for leg
3 as he hit a ton and a ton forty and finished on 96 in three darts to lead
once again. Darren wasn’t giving up though and succeeded to level again after
a 17-dart leg. Both struggled on the finishing in leg five but Martyn did
finish to lead 3-2. Martyn then ran away with the last leg to take the win
4-2. The next match saw Dave Hasnip take on Elaine Corke. Dave started well
in leg one and finished a 18 dart leg on a 111 checkout. The next three legs
Dave just outscored Elaine and got to the double to win 4-0. Last year’s
winner Tony Holland took on Derek Johnson. Tony left Derek behind alot in
this match Derek did however get a consolation point but it was Tony who ran
out a 4-1 winner with legs of 17, 17, 17, 18, 19 darts with an average of
27.88 highest of the night and the only player to hit a maximum. Debra
Royal’s campaign to the season started next with the first of two games, one
against Redvers Dickinson. Both didn’t scoring heavily and any leg could have
been anyone’s but Deb reigned to take the win 4-0, finishing on 128 in three
darts in the last leg. Tony Holland was then back to the oche, this time
against Mark Simpson. The first leg could have been anyone’s but Tony came
out the winner to lead. Tony had a 15-dart leg next and checked out on 101
while Mark was back on 171. The third leg went again to Tony but Mark fought
back in leg 4 to take a consolation point, but this didn’t upset Tony as he
strolled on to take the win 4-1. The last game of the night was Debra Royal
and Elaine Corke. Deb didn’t give Elaine much chance to get down to the
double as Deb hit some good scores at the right time coming out a 4-0 winner.
A good night for Deb. LINCS RACING CHAMPIONSHIP There were only four games in Lincs racing tonight due
to other commitments. First up was Rick Woods and Kev Dickinson. Both evenly
matched it was just who got the double first and in this game it was Rick
coming of with the three points but Kev did manage to get a consolation
point. Next up was Dennis Turner and Lee Dickinson. Lee seems to be the
player to watch this year as he left Dennis behind and finished all three
legs of straight away well done Lee with an average of 21.16 the highest of
the night. Next up to the oche was Pedro Silva and James Beeson. This was a
match that potentially could have gone all five legs as both scoring evenly
and double trouble from both but Pedro came out the winner 3-1. The last game
saw Rob Scrupps and Jimmy Birtwhistle fight it out. Nothing really to shout about
in this game just who got the double first and it was Rob who had the luck
winning 3-0. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE The challenge league started with an all women encounter against Sharon Butler and Angie Upsall. Sharon dominated this game as Angie struggled to get going. Sharon checked out on a 110 finish to lead then took the next two legs also taking the win 3-0. Dale Broughton took on Louise Charalambou next. Dale just the stronger and came of a 3-0 winner. The next match could have gone either way between Suzy Watson and Adam Kemp, both good scoring but both struggled on doubles and it was Adam who came of the 2-1 winner. Another match that could have gone either way was between Diane Jenkins and Darren Bierley both struggling at the doubles but it was Diane who came of a 3-0 winner. Phil Hunt took on Emma Grant next. Emma had a good first leg checking out on 101 in three darts and managed to secure the second leg but went to pots in the third as Phil took a consolation point. Pete Johnson took on Tina Willicombe in the next match, and Tina managed to keep with Pete but both struggled on finishing and unlucky for Tina and good for Pete saw Pete finish all legs to come out a 3-0 winner. Emma Grant and Angie Upsall were back in action for the last match. Both scoring reasonably well but both ended up in the mad house and after both heads were spinning Angie got the double to lead. Leg two Emma scoring better although she did have some loose darts nearly hit a 147 checkout hitting treble 20, treble 17 and leaving 36 just missed the double. Next time around, though, and Emma sealed the second leg with two darts. The last leg both struggled to have some good scores both ended up on tops and Angie just got there coming out a 2-1 winner. |

Round-up for week ending September 12 BOSTON STANDARD PREMIER DIVISION Starting the Premier Division this week were Tony Buckle
and Bob Mountain. Bob had the better game although Tony had his chances to take
the match but Bob came out the winner winning 4-2. Next to the oche starting
his campaign of the season was Graham Sharp against Martyn Palmer. This was
an exceptional game, both players scoring high. Martyn hit three tons and two
60s to take the first leg on tops. Graham then came back to take the next
leg. The third leg saw Martyn hit two 140s and check out on 62 in three darts
while Graham was left back on 184. The fourth leg again some high scoring
darts with Martyn hitting a ton, 140 and 122 to leave 32 which he took out
next dart. Graham needed to get back into the game, which he did well by
hitting a superb 174 and a ton to then finish on 70 in three darts to pull a
leg back but Graham couldn’t keep it up and Martyn came out the winner
winning 4-2. A total of 24 ton-pluses was recorded in this game well done
lads. Martyn also got the highest average of 27.37 of the night. Kev Lenton
played Rob Cade next. Both were steady scoring nothing impressive it was just
who got to the double first and in this game Rob got 1 and Kev got 4. Graham
Sharp was back to the oche for his second game against Darren Butler. Darren
went ahead in this game hitting two tons and a ton forty to finish on 4 in 2
darts. That woke Graham up as he took the next 4 legs to win checking out on
a 104 in one leg and also hitting a maximum. Redvers Dickinson promoted from
the championship started his campaign tonight against Dave Hasnip. Both
scoring evenly Redvers having chances but Dave just the better picking of a
4-1 win. Darren Butler then faced his second opponent against Ady Parker.
Darren had seemed to have worn himself out in his earlier game against Graham
Sharp. The first 3 legs Darren couldn’t get near the doubles. Darren did have
a chance in the fourth leg but struggled to get the arrow in the red bit and
Ady came through to win 4-0. The next game saw Jamie Robson take on Mark
Simpson. Mark started the better checking out on 110 in the first leg to take
the lead. Jamie took the next 2 legs to lead. Jamie struggled to finish in
leg 4 and Mark nipped in to level the match. Jamie started the better in leg
5 checking out on 20 in 1 while Mark was back on 165. Mark started well in
leg 6 but the nerves got the better of him as he struggled to finish on tops
as Jamie checked out on 45 in two darts. Mark also beat Grahams previous high
checkout by 6. As always, the dreaded seven-legger of darts always appears
and it seems at the moment to be Tony Hillyard that is involved, this time
against Derek Johnson. A backwards and forwards game but ending up all square
on 3-3 with Tony hitting a 180 and losing that leg down to the doubles. The
last leg Tony just scored the better and checked out on tops in 2 darts to
win 4-3. LINCS RACING CHAMPIONSHIP To get things started for the championship league were
Lee Dickinson and Bob Birtwhistle. Lee walked away with the first leg as he
finished on tops in two while Bob was left back on 146. The second and third
leg both struggled to finish of the game but it was Lee who was superior as
he won 3-0. Next up was newcomer James Beeson and Rick Woods. This game went
all five legs with Rick sticking in a couple of high scores to finish on 4 in
one dart while James was left on 112 so Rick won 3-2. Bob Birtwhistle took on
newly promoted Daniel Flynn again this game went backwards and forwards to be
all square. The last leg both was playing well until Daniel hit a 180 to put
the pressure on Bob and that he did as Daniel took the win 3-2. The next game
was between Pete Grooby and George Harness. George struggled to get going as
Pete checked out on 12 in 3 to secure the first leg while George was left on
76. But that didn’t seem to face our George as he scored well in the next leg
and finished on 20. The third leg Pete hit 2 tons and checked out on 97 while
George was left on 115. The next leg both struggled and both couldn’t finish
of but Pete came through to win 3-1 with the highest average of 19.25 and
highest checkout of 97. The last game of the night was between the “Japanese
sniper” Jimmy Birtwhistle and Dennis Turner. Dennis struggled in the first
leg as he was left on 187 when Jimmy checked out on tops. Dennis came back
though in the second to level. Dennis again the same as the first struggled
as he was left this time on 170 when Jimmy checked on tops again. The 4th leg
Dennis had chances to level the match but loose darts at the doubles meant
Jimmy sneaked in to take the win 3-1. One of the byes has been taken number
15 is now James Beeson. JOHN SMITHS CHALLENGE LEAGUE The challenge league started with newcomer Dale
Broughton playing Pete Johnson. Both had good games. Dale took the first leg
on 20 with one dart while Pete was left back on 123. Pete had a chance to
level in the 2nd leg but could not finish and Dale took the leg. The third
leg saw both start well but Dale hit a 96 to leave 56 while Pete was on 99
and after 3 more arrows Dale sealed the win 3-0 with the highest average of
the night 19.02. The next game on was between Louise Charalambou and Phil
Hunt. Not a lot to say about this game both had good darts both had loose
darts but it was all level after the 2nd leg as Louise hit a 140 in this leg
and Phil struggled to keep up with Louise hitting 8 in one dart. But Phil
scored better in the last leg and took the win 2-1. Diane Jenkins took on Emma
Grant next. Both started well but struggled to finish the first leg and it
was Di who finished on double 1 to take the lead. Emma had a better leg next
scoring quite well and finishing on 12 in 1 while Di was left on 175. The
third leg saw Emma have some good scores again and finished on tops to take
her first win 2-1. Next up was Darren Bierley against Suzy Watson. This match
could have gone either way as both struggled on doubles and it was Suzy who
took the win 2-1. A welcome back player Sharon Butler played next and her
opponent was Adam Kemp. Both had chances for the first leg but it was Adam
who finished. Adam started well in the next as he hit a ton but Sharon came
back into the leg when she hit a 120 and finished of the leg on 20 in three
darts. The third leg was really anybody’s, both scoring well but Adam just
pipped Sharon to the finish taking the win 2-1. The last game of the night
was between Angie Upsall and Tina Willicombe. Tina was defeated even before
she played this match saying Angie was going to beat her. But in this game it
just goes to show you shouldn’t count your chickens before they’re hatched as
Tina beat Angie 2-1. Please note Andy Holland has dropped out of the
challenge league but Sharon Butler has rejoined and has taken his spot. |
