Finals night and presentation for the Boston Central
Tuesday Darts League was held at the Sports Bar. The night’s play kicked off with the divisional
three-a-side round-robins. Winners of Division One were Queen of Spades (M
Palmer, A Parker, T Hillyard). They beat the Great Northern Trio of C Royal,
A Blackham and D Manning. Division Two was won by the Red Cow Fishtoft (M Flynn, B
Birtwhistle, R Woods). They beat the Boston Town. Division Three saw the Little Peacock beat the Peacock
Kirton. The next final was the Mick Hardstaff Memorial Shield contested by
the Queen of Spades (defending champions) and the Labour Club. The latter
came up trumps, this time winning 2-0. The pairs finals followed. Division Three saw J Baxter
and A Sharp from the Little Peacock beat D and D Williams (Pig and Whistle)
2-0. The Division Two final was next up to the stage. That was battled out by
the pairs from Red Cow Fishtoft (B Birtwhistle and M Flynn) against S Morgan
and J White from the Great Northern. Mick and Bob took the title 2-0. The
Division One final saw Tony Hillyard and Sean Rickell from the Queen of
Spades play well and beat Graham Sharp and Gary Denniss from the Labour Club
3-0. The last three games of the night on the stage were the
divisional singles. First up from Division Three were D Williams (Pig and
Whistle) and A Sharp (Peacock Kirton). Alan won 2-1. Division Two was between
Bill Bailey (Sports Bar) and Mick Flynn (Red Cow Fishtoft). It was another
close final that Mick took 2-1. The last game of the night saw Harry Lee
(Ship Tavern) take on Graham Sharp (Labour Club). Graham held on to win 3-2
after leading 2-0. Most 180’s Division One, A Parker; Division Two, B
Fisher (Ropers Arms); Division Three. A Johns (New Castle). High finish: Division One, G Sharp 167; Division Two, P
Silva 152; Division Three, D Williams, A Sharp, 130. Division winners: Division One, 1 Labour Club, 2 Queen
of Spades, 3 Robin Hood; Division Two, 1 Red Cow Fishtoft, 2 Sports Bar, 3
Wellington; Division Three, 1 Peacock Kirton, 2 Pig and Whistle, 3 New
Castle. The new season starts on July 4 for Division Two and
Three. Division One starts on June
