Finals night summary from December 13

Finals night and annual presentations for the Boston Central Tuesday Darts League were held at Boston United Sports Bar, a function well supported by players and spectators.

Three-a-side finals started the night’s action. The Division One final was between the Queen of Spades A and the Great Northern A. Martyn Palmer, Ady Parker and Tony Hillyard from the Queen beat the GN trio of Chris Royal, Deano Manning and Gadge Eaton 5-2. Division Two saw the Woad Man trio of Dave Rolfe, C Walden and C Tuczek beat the Napoleon trio of Kev Adcock, Simon Mars and Simon Phillips 5-2. In the Division Three match, Great Northern beat the Carpenters Arms.

The next final was the Mick Hardstaff Memorial Shield team KO. Battling out the final were the Queen of Spades A and B teams. The A team won 2-0.

The pairs finals was next up. The Division Three final saw victory go to B Carr and partner R Wightman from the Mayflower Club who beat J Lake and K Lewis from the Great Northern. Division Two saw a win for S Marsh and K Adcock from the Napoleon. They beat B Bunce and R Woods from the Red Cow Fishtoft, 2-0. Division One pairs final saw G Sharp and G Denniss (Labour Club) take on S Parker and Andy Cammack from the Queen of Spades. Shane and Andy ran out 3-1 winners.

The singles finals followed. Division Three was up first — an all-Mayflower final between Ben Carr and Rick Wightman. A close game ensued by Ben just edged it. In Division Two Alex Dunmore from the Wellington took on Mick Flynn from the Red Cow, Fishtoft. Another good final went all down to the wire and Alex played a good consistent last leg to take the title. The final game, the Division One singles final was between Shane Parker and Martyn Palmer. Both came from the Queen of Spades. A good final saw both players performing well, but Martyn was just the hotter and took the match 3-1.

The Mayor of Boston Coun Andrew Bakewell presented the trophies. The new season is due to start in January, hopefully on the 10th.
