Saturday May 20 saw 28 juvenile riders take part in the Spalding “Go-Ride” Inter-Club event between Spalding CC, Boston Wheelers, Bourne Wheelers and Yello Velo. The riders did a number of events which included 400m handicap race. Bryony Saint, Jake Saint and Pippa Saint all had good races to put them through to the finals where Pippa Saint finished second and Jake Saint third.

They then split into two groups head-to-head races of slalom and hoop racing where the riders ride round in a circle and when the whistle blows the last rider without a hoop is out. Joe Reed, competing in his first

competition finished second with Matt Ellis of Spalding winning this event.

The next event was a 200m sprint relay and riders were split into four teams of mixed ages. The blue team won which include Jake Saint. The last race was the cyclo-cross event with a mass start of 28 riders all competing over the same course. The race was meant to last 13 minutes. But after 10 minutes the last lap whistle was blown as it was raining so hard.
