Week ending December 31:

THE final leg of the Lincolnshire Cyclo Cross League was held over the Christmas holidays at Coldhamworth Farm, Lincoln. Conditions were cold with snow lying on ground and races for this last time were handicap events.

In the under-12s section of a 15-minute race Boston Wheelers rider Lennox Saint was scratch rider and passed all but two to finish in third place. However, he was the under-12 title winner for the third successive time. In the under-14s race Pippa Saint finished in seventh place and took second spot in the league ahead of several male riders. All-in-all both riders have performed well in the tough races.

In the Alford Wheelers festive 10-mile time-trial event Pete Saint and club newcomer James Harness rode along snow covered ground on their training bikes and both rode well. James was timed in at 27.19 for second place, getting the better of Pete’s 27.43 for third spot. Faster rider with 25.63 was P Griffiths of the promoting club.
