The top division of the Target Saturday Night League
had the closest finish for a number of years. The Wright/Rovers team, sitting
in top spot, had to watch the Kittens pull off an exciting win against third
placed Wolfes. The latter put out their strongest team and had the noisy
Wright/Rovers team in support knowing they had to win — or at least avoid
defeat by not more than nine shots to ensure Wright/Rovers won the title. But
the Kittens, as defending champions, are made of strong stuff. Going into the
last end, they led by nine shots and then rounded things off by picking up a
count of three to reclaim the title. The Magpies won Division Two and
Division Three had the Herons in top spot. |
